My first week in the field was a solid GOOD. On a scale of horrible to fantastic, of which I am extremely satisfied. That shows how low my expectations were. We witnessed miracles yes! almost everyday. We teach about 5 lessons a day. I am getting the hang of everything and starting to build relationships with our investigators. Even though they still are disappointed everytime they see me instead of Hermana Pew's previous companion. Hermana Pew reminds me so much of Emily Binch it is great. I love her.
This week we found 7 new people in 2 days. We were looking for an old investigator and went to what we thought was his house. As we were walking up Hermana Pew says "yeah this definitely isn't his house" haha but we smiled and decided to ask for the man anyways. While we were explaining to the lady who answered the door who we were looking for a car pulled up in the driveway. This man was just getting home from work and was super confused about who we were. Anyways by the end we were laughing with him and he said we could come back and teach his whole family about our message. Then that night we found Leticia and Jose at the park watching their kid play soccer with some friends. WE ARE SO EXCITED TO TEACH THESE TWO. She is catolico-who isn't? But she like asked if she could give us her address and to come to her house and teach her. AND she called us. Anyways I am making no sense. But the moral of the story... I love finding new people. I am really excited to invite these people to follow Christ!
We had a branch actividad on Saturday. A cultural activity with dancing and TONS of food! We invited all of our investigators. The activity started an hour late (they are not very punctual) BUT it was so fun! And the food was all SOO GOOD! 3 of our investigators came!
Hermana Pew and I had a really good companion study yesterday. We were both crying together while being edified in Christ. We are striving to be more humble and to know Christ better. I am learning to recognize pride in myself. It's hard to be so bad at spanish, but if I am continually trying, and seeking his help in EVERYTHING I do, I will be able to effectively fulfill my purpose, even right now with my little experience. I love being a missionary. The time flew by this week. I now know what people were talking about when they said they would fall asleep saying their personal prayers at night. It's tiring! But I seriously love it.
I helped out in primary yesterday. I'm sending a handwritten letter about that. I love the gospel. And I know the Gospel of Jesus Christ really does bless families! Keep saying prayers and reading scriptures as a family! I know Heavenly Father blesses us when we do what he asks of us. Look for more ways to be blessed by doing what he wants. Love you :)
